From a patch headline to a decision you can trust

Check dates, server scope and evidence before changing a build or buying materials.

Three dates can describe three different things

An article publication date, a maintenance date and the start of an event are not interchangeable. A guide can be published today while discussing an older rule. Before acting, locate the date in the original announcement and note whether it describes a test, an upcoming change or a live change. Keep the link with your notes so the statement can be checked again. A screenshot cropped to remove the date and server context is incomplete evidence.

Identify the exact version and scope

A similarly named feature can belong to a different edition, server group or test environment. Write down which game edition the source describes and whether the change is limited to a subset of servers. If that information is absent, mark the claim as unresolved. MH5P focuses on planning for the PC game; a mobile guide should not be silently treated as a PC guide. A translation should preserve scope restrictions rather than trimming them for a cleaner headline.

Separate a rule from an interpretation

The original notice may describe a numeric change while a community post predicts a market reaction. These are two different claims. Quote only the necessary short portion of a source, link to the original and express your own reasoning separately. A forum report can suggest a test to perform, but a single report does not establish a universal rule. Look for the stated conditions and whether another player could reproduce the observation.

Turn a headline into a small verification

Instead of asking whether a change is “huge,” ask a question with a checkable answer: does this requirement apply to my server, is my current item affected, and is the effective date already past? Then choose the smallest reversible next action. That might mean checking an in-game description or postponing a purchase until the rule is clear. This approach reduces the risk of making an expensive choice from a dramatic but incomplete headline.

Keep a correction trail

When information changes, update the affected passage and explain what changed. Do not advance an article date just to make it look new. Our editorial policy distinguishes original analysis, external reports and hypothetical examples. For daily Blog work, a useful correction or a carefully checked evergreen guide is preferable to publishing an unsupported breaking-news claim. Readers should be able to tell what is known, what is inferred and what is still uncertain.
